It has often been said that entrepreneurs are integral to the economic development of Trinidad and Tobago.
These enterprising individuals stimulate economic activity and provide employment opportunities for many. Entrepreneurs essentially start new business organizations or seek to revitalize existing ones. Raising capital for business ventures is a major challenge for budding entrepreneurs. Effectively managing the business in the face of an increasingly competitive and treacherous economic environment is a decisive factor which determines success or failure. In recognition of this and as a means to providing entrepreneurs with pertinent information, the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago has collaborated with the Chagunas Borough Cooperation, in conjuntion with the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago and in collaboration with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Inter American Development Bank to host a series of small and micro enterprises expositions.
Booth holders at the expos include National Entrepreneurship Development Company Limited (NEDCO), Venture Capital Incentive Programme, EXIM Bank, Trinidad and Tobago Unit Trust Corporation, Agricultural Development Bank and Youth Business Trinidad and Tobago. The main objective of the expo is to give sound advice to entrepreneurs as they endeavour to be successful in business. The first expo was held in the sister isle of Tobago on October 17th while the second took place on November 13th in Chaguanas. For information on upcoming expos please contact the Central Bank 624 2601.
