'Lady K' is TTEC's Calypso Power Monarch 2010

T&TEC’s Calypso Power Monarch 2010, Khadja Antoine delivers a stirring performance.

In only her second year competing, „Lady K‟, real name Khadja Antoine, was crowned T&TEC‟s Calypso Power Monarch 2010 on Friday January 29th at the Commission‟s 22nd Annual Calypso Power Monarch competition. Singing the topical “How essential are we,” Khadja tackled the issue of recent attacks against T&TEC employees while on duty, delivering an emotionally charged performance. With exceptional stage presence and a lively presentation, the Head Office employee convincingly beat her sixteen fellow contestants. Her efforts won the favour of the St. John‟s Ambulance audience and as a result she also earned the coveted “People‟s Choice” prize sponsored by TATECO Port of Spain.

Accompaniment for the competition was provided by Kelly Green and Harmony. Master of Ceremonies was a very entertaining Rachel Price and guest artistes were Shadow, Shurwayne Winchester and JW and Blaze.
