Between January 2008 and November 2009, 417 searches conducted throughout prisons and the Youth Training Centre resulted in 1, 143 cellphones being confiscated and there is evidence that rogue prisons officers are involved in smuggling cellphones to inmates, reported National Secuirty Minister Martin Joseph.
