Food courses for September

The Ministry of Food Production is offering free food courses across the country for the month of September.

At the Farmers Training Centre at Caroni North Road, Centeno the classes will begin on Wednesday with a two day course on cultivating dwarf pommecythere, seasoning herbs production on September 13 and 14 and the last classes held at this venue will be production on banana and plantain from September 26 to 28.

In Princes Town there will be only one course held at this venue on September 6 and 7: identification and management of common insect pests and diseases in crop plants.

In Rio Claro, at the Ministry's Ecclesville office courses in seasoning herbs production on September 6 and 7; home gardening on September 13 and 14; cultivating dwarf pommecythere on September 18 and 19 and cocoa production on September 27 and 28 will be offered.

While the courses are free, there will be a maximum of 30 persons allowed in each class.  Registration for the courses will be taken at each venue and on the first day of the course before 8:30 am.
