August 17, 2012: The Ministry of the People and Social Development, in response to the recent flooding Diego Martin Region, has set up a number of Strategic Social Impact Assessment Centres throughout the region to treat with the needs of affected residents. The SSICs will be open until Friday, August 24th 2012, if needed, so that affected residents can go to these facilities to report their problems and get help. The Strategic Social Impact Centres are located at the following: Diego Martin Central Community Centre Point Cumana Community Centre La Seiva Community Centre Petit Valley Community Centre Diego Martin South Community Centre The Ministry of the People and Social Development continues to do its part in the relief effort through a two pronged approach. Our staffers, who form part of the Ministry’s Disaster Response Team, are on the ground, working in the field and going around area by area to get information on the relief items needed. Residents can also directly approach these Centres for assistance.
