Minister Moonilal on Familiarisation Tour

Minister of Housing, Lands and Marine Affairs, Dr the Honourable Roodal Moonilal

On Friday 10, August 2012, Dr. the Honourable Roodal Moonilal Minister of Housing, Land and Marine Affairs and his Permanent Secretary Ms. Sarah Briggs (Ag), together with other Ministry officials embarked on a familiarisation tour of the new Agencies and Divisions that now fall under the Ministry’s purview.

The tour began at 9:00 am at the Estate Management Business Development Company (EMBDC), in Valpark Plaza, Valsayn, where he first met in session with Board Members, CEO’s and Senior Executives. The Minister was briefed on the operations of the EMBD and given updates of current and proposed projects.

The Minister took the opportunity to address staff and welcomed them into the Ministry’s fold.

The ministerial team also visited the Surveys and Mapping Offices, where he was high in praise for the highly technical and skilled offerings of the Surveys and Mapping Office.

Minister Moonilal also visited the offices of the Commissioner of State Lands, where he got presentations of from 14 departments and addressed the staff.

The Minister stressed the need for collaborations and synergies among the various departments and the Ministry for effective Management and delivery of the important portfolios of Land and Housing.
