Statement by His Excellency Timothy Hamel-Smith, Acting President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, on the flooding of Saturday 11th August 2012

My condolences and prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives to yesterday’s floods. I express the hope that the memories of the time spent together will bring comfort in this difficult time.

I do hope that all who have suffered damage and destruction as a result of the floods will receive the necessary assistance so that they may be restored to normalcy.
