Public Service week 2012, continued today with the Opening Ceremony of the OPEN HOUSE today on the Brian Lara Promenade. Minister Seepersad-Bachan told the audience at the Brian Lara Promenade today that the four-day Open House brought "the entire public service to you the people of Trinidad and Tobago." She explained, "This is part of Public Service Week 2012 and is an opportunity for you who consume the multitude of services the Government offers to interact with those who provide these services. It is also part of our sharing the idea of the journey from Gold to Diamond that is our theme this year. It is only through the interaction between service providers and service consumers that we will know what you want and expect now and in the future”
Permanent Secretary Gillian Macintyre also commented on the idea behind the OPEN HOUSE initiative by saying “It is intended to bring those of us throughout the public sector who provide services to the population together with the persons we serve. The theme of this week’s celebration is from Gold to Diamond. We are recognising the Golden Anniversary of our national public service and commencing our journey to the Diamond anniversary, as we prepare for the future”
