The Ministry of Finance, through its Inland Revenue Division, invites secondary school students to participate in a schools' essay writing competition.

The third annual Caribbean Organization of Tax Administration (COTA) Essay Writing competition will close tomorrow, May 15, and students 13 to 15 years of age are being invited to participate.

Up for grabs are three regional prizes: the third place winner will receive a notebook computer, second place is vying for a sixteen gigabyte ipad and first place will receive a thirty-two megabyte ipad and a trophy.

The topic of this year's 500 word essay: 'The Tax Administration plays a critical role in my country's development. How can I use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to enhance my country's tax administration's capabilities so as to generate greater resources for national development?'
