The Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG) met in an extraordinary session in London on February 22, 2012 to consider its response to the situation in the Maldives. CMAG received a report from the three-member ministerial mission that visited Maldives from February 17-19, 2012 to ascertain the facts surrounding the transfer of power and to promote adherence to Commonwealth values and principles.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. the Honourable Surujrattan Rambachan, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Communications and included Dr. the Honourable Dipu Moni, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh and the Honourable John Baird, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Canada among other members.
