Victoria Education District takes Lego Club TT titles
Princes Town ASJA Primary School copped the titles in both the Nimble Fingers and Creative competitions at the inaugural School Lego Competition which took place at the Creative Arts Centre, San Fernando recently. Hosted by the Lego Clubs of Trinidad and Tobago in collaboration with the Ministry of Education the competition was open to standard two and three pupils of primary schools across the country.
Arion Huggins and Rafia Ali-Khan took the top spot in the Nimble Fingers and Creative competitions respectively. The Nimble Fingers competition challenged players to construct a model within 5-minutes while the second competition required players to create a replica of a model in 30 minutes.
The objective of the Lego competitions is aligned to important skills being taught in schools through the STREAM (Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Arts and Math) methodology. This approach encourages students to problem-solve, collaborate and think criticallyamong other competences.
Second and Third place in the Nimble Fingers competition went to NaydenRoopnarine of Princes Town ASJA and Matthew Sookdeo of San Francique Presbyterian respectively. Hewitt Monsague of Jubilee Presbyterian and Enilio Belanger of Athenian Pre-Secondary took second and third place in the Creative competition.
