January 9, 2015: The demand for Air Operations and Air Law Enforcement support has increased tremendously over the past year.

The present fleet of helicopters operated by the NOC is more than 30 years old and has continued to provide exceptional support due to the robust maintenance program and professionalism of the NOC flight crews.

As a result the Government of Trinidad and Tobago has embarked on a helicopter acquisition process in an effort to augment this increased operational demand.

In the interim the NOC has leased 2 helicopters, 1 Sikorsky 76 aircraft outfitted for operational, utility, medevac and troop transport and 1 AS 355 light twin used helicopter outfitted for TTPS law enforcement support.

The utilisation of Air Operations in the successful fight against crime, air borne firefighting, border patrols and critical infrastructure surveillance has proven without a doubt the necessity to upgrade and expand the air support capability to ensure continuance of these successes and the reduction of crime in Trinidad and Tobago.
