Provision of a concessional loan for the development of the Phoenix Park Industrial Estate
The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs hosted the Signing Ceremony for the Framework Agreement for the Provision of a Concessional Loan between the Government of Trinidad and Tobago and the Government of the People’s Republic of China for the development of the Phoenix Park Industrial Estate on Wednesday 13th November, 2019.
Senator the Honourable Dennis Moses, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs signed the Framework Agreement on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and His Excellency Song Yumin, Ambassador for the People’s Republic of China, for the Government of the People’s Republic of China.
The conclusion of this Framework Agreement advances the process to commence development of a New Industrial Estate at Phoenix Park by Evolving TecKnologies and Enterprise Development Company Limited (eTecK) of Trinidad and Tobago and Beijing Construction Engineering Group (BCEG) of China.
The Phoenix Park Industrial Estate is approximately one hundred and forty-five acres and will be designed to attract firms in the areas of high-value and light manufacturing, logistics/warehousing, and emerging industries - electronic technology, information technology, energy-saving ecological building materials and biotechnology, which will promote Government’s diversification efforts.
