Prime Minister opens Carenage Homework Centre
Prime Minister Dr the Hon. Keith Rowley officially opened the Carenage Homework Centre and Police Youth Club on Saturday, 24 February, 2018.
Dr Rowley, who is also the Member of Parliament for Diego Martin West, said the facility provides an ideal opportunity for those who want to volunteer their time to work with children.
He applauded the police for their work in the Carenage area and urged parents to allow officers to build relationships with the young ones in the community.
The facility was completed by UDeCOTT and consists of four buildings which include a resource library, a study hall/multimedia room, a children’s reading and learning centre, washroom facilities, an office for staff and storage. The entire facility is equipped with energy efficient and environmentally friendly features and outfitted to meet the needs of those living with certain disabilities.
