PM and Ministers tour Cedros coastal erosion site
Dr. the Honourable Keith Rowley, Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the Honourable Maj. Gen. Edmund Dillon, MP for Point Fortin, Senator the Honourable Kazim Hosein, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Candice Gray-Bernard, Director - Coastal Protection Unit of the Ministry of Works and Transport and other key personnel were on Thursday 1st March, 2018 on site in Cedros where a major landslip occurred on Monday.
The Prime Minister and his team spoke to residents and offered their support in returning their lives to some sense of normalcy within the shortest possible time-frame. Ongoing assessments will be conducted by key stakeholders and in the interim, both ends of the affected roadway will be officially closed off. The residents were advised to evacuate to ensure their safety.
