National Crime Prevention Programme (NCPP) hosts second Public Outreach Engagement in Tobago
The Ministry of National Security, National Crime Prevention Programme hosted its second Public Outreach Engagement in Tobago on August 14th, 2018. The outreach was held at the Tobago East, Betsy’s Hope/Louis D’or Multi-purpose Facility, Windward Road.
Attending the outreach was Tobago East MP and Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister, the Honourable Ayanna Webster-Roy.
Minister Webster-Roy highlighted that she strongly believes that the residents from Tobago East can take responsibility and assist with the grooming and development of well-rounded young persons in the community.
She noted that there are times when some families need support from the community. “We have to take personal responsibility as a community, we have to be able to address family issues and the problems within the home.”
The minister spoke passionately to residents about the development of Community Foster Care for children of Tobago East, that can provide guidance to their well-being and personal development. She encouraged participants to consider this initiative and said “boys and girls who are not taken care of, may end up in criminal activities.”
