February 18, 2014: The Minister of National Security, Senator the Honourable Gary Griffith is describing a weekly newspaper headline “DEA demands lie detector tests for local Cops” as misleading to the public in relation to the recent Norfolk, Virginia drug bust.

The Minister notes that at no time did the DEA demand that police officers undergo random polygraph tests and that any such suggestion can have an adverse effect on the morale of honest and hard-working police officers.

He also noted that the Ministry of National Security through its law enforcement agencies continues to work assiduously with its US counterparts to ensure all those involved in the smuggling of the US$100.Mn. drug shipment to the US are brought to justice.
