Minister of Energy and Energy Industries requests Petrotrin Report
Senator the Honourable Franklin Khan, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, has written to the Board of Petrotrin requesting that they investigate matters raised during the sitting of the House of Representatives on Friday 27th April, 2018 by the Member for St Augustine, Prakash Ramadhar, via an urgent question relating to issues cited by attorney-at-law Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj, legal representative of A&V Oil and Gas Ltd. in a recent press conference.
The question posed was as follows:
“Could the Minister state whether he is aware of an Internal Audit Report made public yesterday that identifies deficiencies in Standard Operating Procedures by Petrotrin, for the measurement of crude oil and a practice which if continued would be “disastrous” to Petrotrin’s Refinery?”
In responding to the question Minister Khan indicated that he was not aware of any such report, however, given the nature of the issues raised he contacted the Chairman of Petrotrin requesting that the matter be investigated and a report prepared and submitted to him as soon as possible together with a copy of any relevant Internal Audit Report.
