Maraval and Belle Vue to get Community Centres

Dr. the Honourable Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, Minister of Community Development, Culture and the Arts together with, the Honourable Colm Imbert, Member of Parliament for Diego Martin North/East and Minister of Finance, turned the sod, on Friday 24th July, 2020 to mark the commencement of construction for the Maraval and the Belle Vue/Dibe/Dundonald Hill Community Centres.

Minister Imbert said that these centres will be among the most modern facilities and a tremendous gift to the people of these communities. He thanked Minister Gadsby-Dolly for heeding his plea and ensuring that Maraval and Belle Vue/Dibe/Dundonald Hill get community centres.

In her address to the residents and guests present at the sod turning, Dr. the Honourable Nyan Gadsby-Dolly said  that the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts has been on an aggressive drive to construct and refurbish community centres throughout Trinidad. According to the Community Development Minister, “we at the Ministry understand what a centre means to a community and how it helps its members to grow from strength to strength and to measure progress by the way their centre looks and is presented to the community.”

Minister Gadsby-Dolly also shared that to date the Ministry has opened 41 community centres since 2015 and there are plans to open more in the upcoming weeks.
