Churchill Roosevelt Highway and Uriah Butler Highway Intersection closed

The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure wishes to advise the general public that a section of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway (CRH) and Uriah Butler Highway (UBH) Intersection will be closed from 8:00 p.m. Thursday 19th to 6:00 a.m. Friday 20th September 2013. This closure is to facilitate paving works.

Motorists are asked to note the following traffic arrangements/diversions:-

  • From San Fernando to Mt. Hope (E.M.R.) or east to Curepe, UWI etc.
    • On approaching the Caroni River Bridge keep on the left or middle lane.
    • Exit left unto the CRH Westbound lane via the south to west ramp.
    • Keep left on the CRH Westbound, exit left to Aranguez Road South.
    • Proceed on the Aranguez Road South to the Aranguez Overpass to access the CRH Eastbound to Mt. Hope (E.M.R) or east to Curepe, UWI etc.
  • From Mt. Hope (E.M.R.) to San Fernando:-

Alternative 1

  • Keep right on approaching the CRH/UBH Intersection.
  • Exit right unto the CRH Westbound.
  • Keep left on the CRH Westbound, exit left to Aranguez Road South.
  • Proceed on the Aranguez Road South to the Aranguez Overpass to access the CRH Eastbound
  • Keep left and proceed to San Fernando via the west to south ramp.

Alternative 2

  • Keep left on approaching CRH/UBH Intersection.
  • Exit left unto the CRH Eastbound.
  • Keep right and proceed to the U-Turn Valsayn traffic light.
  • U-Turn unto the CRH Westbound, keep left and exit to San Fernando.

In view of the above, motorists are advised to:-

Proceed with caution and observe all directional signs and barriers. Comply with instructions from the Police Officers on site to facilitate the flow of traffic in an orderly manner. Drive at a reduced speed on approaching the work zone.
